Felecia is getting a big sister 🙌🫶

I just closed on a 28' Carolina Classic. She's 5' longer and 2' wider than felecia. This boat weighs almost 15,000 lbs 🤯 felecia only weighs 4,200 😳 this girl be thick 😘.

I lost so many trips last summer due to weather ( anything over 10 mph winds 😑 and I had to cancel ) and I was only able to take four people max and it was tight at that. I knew that last year was a test run with chartering, and with the amazing success we had, I knew we had to upgrade.

Since Sept., I've looked seriously at seven boats, put on 2,800 miles and got excited and disappointed six times. Boats on Facebook looked nothing like the photos listed, sketchy cover ups, the last boat I literally walked right by not recognizing the boat I just drove five hours to see 😤 Then I met Josh Compeau with Precision Yacht Sales, I told him what I was trying to do and what I was looking for, that night, I had three boats matching my parameters in my Email. That's when I saw.... Her 😍

I wanted a heavy well built boat able to handle rough seas but keep customers safe. I wanted more room for comfort for our clients able to take six people myself and a mate, I wanted a boat with a full restroom and galley. But mostly, I wanted a boat that spoke to me, in great shape that's safe and rides well in all conditions. I looked at Tiara's, Pursuit's, Sportcraft's, and then finally.... A Carolina Classic ❤️ I didn't know much about the brand until I did research on them. Lights out, all the boxes checked. They are built for rough waters and safety. They ride extremely well and are roomy. They were built with fisherman in mind.

This boat has had two owners, always fresh water kept and was a cruising boat. I have the entire winter to rig her up and outfit her to the tenth power 😎

Please welcome ( I don't have her named yet 😬) our newest addition to Fishcop charters ❤️❤️❤️❤️

When life gives you lemons 😏

Yesterday afternoon my charter for today canceled on me 🤦‍♂️ I put out a quick open spot on Facebook and Chelsea snapped up the spot 🫶

Chelsea brought her son Milo, her dad Doug ( my old boss - the sheriff of Alcona ret.) and her mom Linda ( my magistrate - current).

Weatherman said this is the last nice day for a few, so we made the best out of it and hit the water. We didn't have three lines in when the rigger went off and milo brought in a true sea monster 🙌 a 15.5# lake trout 😍 bang, bang the other two rods went off and a ten lber and a seven came aboard. No rods in the water.

Couldn't get more than four rods in at any one time, we had multiple doubles, a triple and non stop action for three hours before we limited on giant fish ❤️❤️❤️

We caught 14 fish and lost one. Two over fifteen lbs, two at fourteen and the rest with the exception of two all weighing in around nine or ten lbs.... We had trouble getting the boat on plane coming in as there was so much weight on the back of the boat 😳🤪

Chelsea gave this trip as an early birthday present for Milo, a few more years and he's gonna be my mate on Felecia 😏 this was my best trip as far as catching giant fish and a cooler full as a charter captain 🙌❤️. I explained to Milo, this is the exception and not the norm for fishing, so set your expectations to lower 🤔 but, enjoy the victory as this doesn't happen all the time..

The wind and rain brought in the chrome 🙌

We've been kept off the water for over a week with the crazy winds and rain storms hitting the area for almost three weeks. We got a one day reprieve and then wind coming again tomorrow 🤦‍♂️

My mate Alex and I have a charter tonight, so we wanted to fun fish / scout where to go 🤔 go east young man! My case it's old man 🫤 fished straight east of the harbor about seven miles offshore.

We fished six lines, all high and ran fast. Leaping fish and a full cooler was our reward for last weeks wind. We fished for only three hours and caught four steelhead, two pink salmon, a big Atlantic and lake trout 😍 we also lost two others jumping in the air and spitting the hook 🤷‍♂️ we truly have an amazing fishery here on Lake Huron ❤️
